Bmoko Congo

This year was the First Annual Bmoko Congo Reunion.  We brought together 15 families in Chicago who all have or will have families that have kids from DRC.

It was a great time, and the memories of spending time with these amazing families that look like ours will last forever.
Party in Phi's room while all the moms had their night out!

Someone found the cupcakes in the closet

How can you say "No" to this face?

She always just licks the frosting!

Exciting time with friends at the botanical gardens

We have a rock climber

And a big helper

She taught some of her friends how to go down the scary slide

Very cool telescope to watch birds

It had an amazing ropes and bridges course that the kids loved, we could not keep them off of it.

It was a big joke to climb off the steps and pretend to fall

Friends!

This is our attempt to get a picture of all the kids...not everyone cooperated

and another try

Wedding Season!

The end of June brought our first wedding since Phi came home and she was asked to be a flower girl!

She was a bit tired that day but when she got into her dress and saw all the pretty princesses (bridesmaids).  During the rehearsal she was able to hold hands with Bennett, but once we got to the wedding we realized we had a problem, Bennett was carrying the pillow with the rings, so she could not hold his hand.  Phi took matters into own hands (no pun intended) and grabbed his elbow and they walked down the aisle, pretty sure everyone was tearing up a bit!

It was a beautiful day, a beautiful ceremony, and a great time spent with family.

It was a bit tough getting them going, but they figured it out!

She would not drop the flowers, they belong in the basket.

Possibly one of my favorite pictures of all of us.

Cheese!
