The first room we visited was the bubble room. We knew this would be a hit as she loves water. We put her down at a water table and she was a bit confused, then Mom & Dad started making bubbles and moving the water around. Sophia could really care less about the bubbles, she quickly figured out she could splash and it made Mom & Dad jump back! She quickly soaked the front of her shirt and then tried to eat her soapy hand, she figured out that that was not the best thing to do!
Next we moved to a discovery room. We say a Boa Constrictor named Oscar. She was very interested in him. Next we saw and got to touch a lobster claw, a bull's horn, and an armadillo shell. Sophia as always tried to put each of these in her mouth!
Next was a room where you were given a few golf balls and could go use different apparatuses that were either simple Rube Goldberg machines, or something demonstrating physics. It was great for Andrea and I, and I am pretty sure Sophia could have cared less.
We then moved to the second floor and went to the Playtime room. This is a larger room composed of several smaller areas. There is a large train track that you can use wheeled cars on, that was a little out of her age range and it was quite crowded. So we moved over to the small kitchen set where she found some watermelon and played with the faucet. After that we headed to our favorite room of the day, the padded room. This room had was mostly covered in pads and Sophia had a great time moving on them and then she discovered the mirror wall and was fascinated with the baby that she met there (her reflection). She played hide & seek with her mom (or at least she thought she was hiding). Next we moved to the upper part where they had a small water bed area that she loved and we played one of her favorite games EARTHQUAKE!
Next we traveled to the 3rd floor that had an awesome Arthur themed room. You could go to different rooms in the house that were done very well, they had a camping out room, a dining room, kitchen, and school room. Really cool! They also had a small market where the kids could go shopping, smell different spices, and run a cash register. They also had a barbershop where you could see yourself with different styles of hair, and a room with some more Black History. She got her picture with Big Papi!
It was a great day spent with our daughter watching her discover new things that she would never have experienced had we not brought her home to her forever family! I cannot wait until she is older and can go down there and discover each part of the Museum. It is definitely going to be something we go to often!
