Timeline of our wait!

We got several sets of pictures throughout our adoption process.  We got them approximately every 6 to 8 weeks.  At about 5 & 1/2 weeks, Andrea would start to expect them and spend every 2 minutes checking her email to see if anymore came.  I loved seeing her face light up when they came in, then the anticipation while they downloaded.  We would sit next to each other and stare at them wondering where she was, who she was with, could she hold her head up, was she crawling, babbling, pulling herself up?.  We really did not know how old the pictures were so we had to guess, but we think we got it close.  We did not know how tall she was, or her weight so it was tough to judge, some pictures made her look HUGE, some not as much.  There really was not anything to compare her to in the pictures, so it was exciting trying to figure it out and thinking about what she was going to be like when she got home.  It was especially frustrating when we were out shopping and wanted to buy her clothes...lots of clothes!  On to what you want to see, pictues

The first set of pictures after our referral.  She is around 7 weeks in this photo
The hand in this pic gives you a better idea of her size.
Such a cutie!
13 weeks old in this one.  The band across her is her Congolese name
Here she is at 18 weeks.  Shucha a happy baby!  This is one of the pictures where we started to think "Whoa this is going to be a big baby!  Perhaps we should make sure we buy bigger clothes"
Not sure what is going on in this one but she is our little munchkin anyway!
24 weeks old here.  This is her Foster Mother Theresa.  From what we can put together she must be an amazing woman, she raised our little girl for the first 8 months of her life.  From stories from the woman who escorted her home, she says that it was very difficult for Theresa to let her go and we can understand why.  She raised an absolutely AMAZING girl who has a kind, happy disposition and I hope some day we have the chance to meet Theresa and give her a great big hug and thank her.  if not< THANK YOU THERESA!  We are forever indebted to your kind heart for helping our baby make it to her Forever Family!

7 Months old here and our last set of pictures until she came home to us forever!  She is such a happy baby!  A theme she continues to this day!
This picture had us smiling!  She is playing with a doll that we sent to her in her care package when we first got the referral.  We hoped that the doll would come home with Sophia so taht she woudl have something that traveled around the world to see her (it did and she lights up every time she sees it)
