From the Beginning...

We are starting a blog for a couple of reasons.  One is for our family to follow the growth of our child, another is to share our story of how our child came to be with us, and finally it is a place to put some memories to share with her when she is older and reads this!  We will be splitting the start into several posts to prevent it from getting too long!

My wife and I always talked about having a family of 2 to 3 children.  The plan was to have a couple of biological children then adopt a child or two.  We tried for several years to conceive with no luck.  During this time we discussed our options, one of them being adoption.  We researched countries, regulations, qualifications, cost, agencies, etc.  Having all this information already, made the transition easier when the specialists we were seeing told us that IVF would be our only option to conceive and that was an option we were not open to doing.

Since we had already made a decision on which agency we were going to use, and the country we were wanting to adopt from, we started making calls and filling out paperwork.
